Review: Dizzy Lizzy (Shifting Shapes) – English

Will all the greedy geckos, chaotic chameleons, leaping lizards and slippery salamanders gather for a game of Dizzy Lizzy?

Dizzy Lizzy is a new and fast card game from the Netherlands, where players try to be the fastest to get rid of their cards by working together (but not cooperatively) to create a Dizzy Lizzy (a colorful lizard made up of three parts).

Players may play cards if Dizzy Lizzy meets any of the possible conditions after this. These conditions are similar to the games like Set. When may players put on Dizzy Lizzy (DL)? DL consists of three different or the same colors, or DL consists of three different or the same patterns.

The player who gets rid Alf all of their cards first has won, and if players cannot play, a random card from the general draw pile is placed on DL. That’s not all, however. Dizzy Lizzy offers players a bit more than a single game variant… Cliffhanger….

The regular game variants of Dizzy Lizzy are each a simple to learn game suitable for all ages. Players can take turns playing or all play pieces of Lizzy at the same time. With this, Dizzy Lizzy contains a familiar mechanism that has been elaborated and designed in a fun way. Currently, the first edition of Dizzy Lizzy is available directly from the publisher at a price of your choice so that everyone has a chance to get acquainted with this dizzy creature.

Dizzy Lizzy has several game variations that make the game varied and more surprising. The game rules already list a number of variants, but there is more: Dizzy Lizzy is a “living game,” where players/fans can also play a role. In fact, the creators challenge players to come up with their own variations on the game and share them with other players. Several variations can already be found on the Dizzy Lizzy site. This interactivity with players is obviously a nice plus and creates engagement.
