Bij Love Letter ben je een van de personen die het hart van de prinses voor zich wil winnen met een liefdesbrief. Maar die brief komt niet zomaar bij de prinses terecht! Je moet proberen om via haar hofhouding en mede-royals de brief bij de prinses terecht te laten komen. Hoe jou dat kan lukken, gaat als volgt.
Iedere speler krijgt een kaart. Op deze kaart staat een persoon van de hofhouding of het koninklijke huis: denk hierbij aan de poortwachter, een kamermeisje, de koning of de gravin. Hoe invloedrijker de persoon, hoe hoger de waarde die op de kaart staat. Iedere beurt moet je een tweede kaart trekken en vervolgens een van de twee kaarten op hand spelen. Iedere kaart heeft een eigen kracht die werkt wanneer je hem speelt. Zo kun je jezelf beschermen tegen krachten van anderen met het kamermeisje, of de tegenstander een kaart laten afleggen door een prins te spelen. Het uiteindelijke doel is om als laatste met de kaart met de hoogste waarde over te blijven.
Love Letter is een leuk en snel spel wat ideaal is voor tussendoor of langer, zowel thuis als op vakantie. Heel multifunctioneel dus. Verder is het thema erg aandoenlijk en zijn de regels eenvoudig. Valentijnsdag, eat your heart out!

In Love Letter you are one of the people that tries to win the heart of the princess with a love letter. But that letter doesn’t just end up with the princess! You have to try to get the letter to the princess through her household and co-royals. How you can do that is as follows.

Each player receives a card. This card depicts a certain person from the royal household or court: take the guard for example. Or a chambermaid! The king or the countess! The more influential the person, the higher the value on the card. Each turn you have to draw a second card and then play one of the two cards in your hand. Each card has its own power that works when you play it. You can use these powers to protect yourself against the powers of others with the chambermaid, or let the opponent discard a card by playing a prince. The ultimate goal of the game is to be the last person standing or the person left with the card with the highest value.
