Review: Cheating Moth (Drei Magier Spiele) – English

You dirty cheating liar! In Cheating Moth by Drei Magier Spiele, cheating is allowed. As a matter of fact: you will actually be rewarded for cheating! Will you be able to cheat your fellow players like a misguided moth or will you have to remain a humble and honest hornet?

In Cheating Moth, players try to get rid of their cards the first. In essence, it is similar to games like Uno. You play your cards in a certain way on a central discard pile. Some cards have special abilities. The main difference with similar games is that you may (and sometimes must) cheat. You are allowed to get rid of your cards in devious and creative alternative ways. Drop your cards on the ground, tuck them into your sleeve, sit on them or secretly play several cards at once. Lying and cheating pay off.

However, you cannot always get away with cheating. In principle, your hand of cards must be visible at all times. In addition, one of the players is the changing role of the guard bug. If this player sees that you are cheating, you will be dealt with firmly. Are you the first to get rid of your cards? Then you are the buggest… Er, I mean biggest cheat of all the pests.

Cheating Moth belongs to the same (thematic) series of games that also includes Cockroach Poker and Cockroach Salad and Woodlouse Chaos. In these funny games where bugs play the leading role, it is mainly a matter of laughing, roaring and whooping for the whole family or for a group enjoying an alcoholic beverage. Cheating Moth is great fun to play with a busy group of hive minded people.
