Review: Arschmallows (Denkriesen) – English

Will you manage to get the marshmallows out of the fire in time, or will you get burnt out? In Arschmallows, it’s all about bums and marshmallows. Your aim is to avoid burning your sweet treats by scoring as few points as possible.

Arschmallows is a golf-style card game, inspired by the traditional card game Golf. Players receive a set of cards, only some of which they’re allowed to look at, and they try to secretly swap cards to get the best possible hand.

In Arschmallows, each player is dealt six face-down cards. So, having a good memory is muy importante. Each turn, they draw a card from either the face-down deck or the discard pile. They can swap cards in their tableau, use cards from the deck as action cards, or discard cards to block and secure one of their own cards. The actions are typical for this genre: swapping, peeking, and so on.

If a player thinks they have the lowest score, the round can be ended and scores are tallied. There are a total of six rounds, which can make it feel a bit longer than other golf games. The theme is likely to appeal to fans of Exploding Kittens or other games with cheeky artwork, making it a great party game to enjoy alongside a few beers.
