In Rolling seas you play as pirates trying to explore the world and tell as many tales of your adventures as possible. In this flip and write you’ll be sailing the seas, exploring Island and fighting monsters.
I’ve only played Rolling Seas solo, so let me tell you how it plays. You’re using dice to chart your course across the seas as well as flipping cards that reveal new challenges on the map in a Cartographers type of way. I really enjoyed the exploration aspect of the sea and the fact that it’s not only about defeating monsters but also about going to different ports to tell about your adventures. I did sometimes feel like I wanted to do more in my turn then I was able to., which isn’t necessarily a bad thing but it was a little frustrating at times.
Overall I think the solo mode is a fun experience but I would prefer to play this multiplayer. When thinking about a solo gaming experience I would probably grab a different game from my shelves.
