Review: Magic Maze Tower (Sit Down!) – English

Although the special pawns from Magic Maze had escaped the original maze, they are now trapped in a tower that they must escape. Fortunately, this time the pawns have two advantages: no time pressure and the help of a new character. Will you manage to escape the tower?

Magic Maze Tower is the newest member of the Magic Maze family. In this series of cooperative games, each player has their own role and players are not allowed to communicate. Magic Maze Tower has no timer; players have simple roles. Still, the game offers challenging space puzzles that players must solve together. This can still be quite tough when you have limited hints to give each other.

Tower contains a tower of cards with levels that players plow through together. Players each play an adventure consisting of 4 to 8 separate quests (cards) that players complete. Then they turn over all the completed cards and those cards now make up a large quest. Players complete quests by moving pawns to the appropriate fields and must solve puzzles using the special properties of each pawn.

Each player gets 1 or more tokens with a move that only that player can perform. Thus, a player may only be able to move pawns left and down. On some quests, players must find keys to open doors or teleport to the correct squares.

Magic Maze Tower contains delightful puzzles that players get to solve in an extremely playful way. The solutions are well thought out and challenging. A valuable and unique addition to the Magic Maze range which is easy to learn and pick up due to its simple and playful rules.
