Danger Danger! By this I am not referring to the glam rock band of the same name or to the first words of a well-known song by Electric Six, but to a party game from the makers of Exploding Kittens. In this game, danger lurks. The danger: your opponents, sometimes your team members and especially time!
In Danger Danger, players/teams try to collect as many suitcases as possible in 60 seconds (aka a minute). Players/teams each draw a card depicting a suitcase or suitcases and flip it open on one of the stacks. They try to do this within 60 seconds, because if the timer goes off and they are still playing, they have automatically lost the round. By the way, the timer is not visible to players, so hopefully you are good at estimating time….
The game can be played in two teams and each team has its own draw pile (pink or yellow). At the beginning of a round, three starting piles are formed twice by placing 3 cards from each pile face up in the center of the table. Among the three cards, draw piles are placed on either side of the tables with an exchange card underneath.
The timer begins to run and players may play. One player from each team draws open a card and starts trying to place it on one of the piles. Players may place cards on top of cards from the other team. In the end, only the visible cards count for scoring.
Only a card with a value 1 higher or lower may be placed on a pile, where a 1 may be placed on an 8 and vice versa. The cards show suitcases that ultimately determine the points. Some cards also display the text new deck. These cards allow (not require) players to start a new pile.
Danger Danger is a wacky party game with a fun twist, where players will be startled by the timer and will laugh, squeal and roar from their teammates’ clues and entertaining frustration from the frenzy.
