Will you enter the dungeon and claim the most treasures, or will it be your opponent who manages to seize the gold? In this Mini Dungeon from White Goblin Games, you never quite know. Gather the best selection of adventurers and you might just beat the dungeon.

Mini Dungeon is a new card game from White Goblin Games for two players, lasting a maximum of 15–20 minutes. Just like other titles developed in the white goblins’ own workshop, the artwork is provided by Don Silzerone, an (graffiti) artist from Gelderland. This distinctive artwork always gives the games from the goblins’ workshop a unique edge.
At first, I perhaps mistakenly expected Mini Dungeon to be a dungeon crawler where players embark on adventures and battle monsters. However, Mini Dungeon is actually a grid battle. Players place cards in a grid and try to have the strongest card in each row and column in order to win the treasure at the end of that row or column.
First, players collect cards. They take a card from each pile, keeping one in their hand and discarding the other. Players repeat this until they have enough cards in hand, after which they take turns placing these cards in the grid. Each card has a value, but most cards also have special abilities that can influence the values or locations of cards to help win rows and columns.
Mini Dungeon is a simple and fast-paced game. It’s a fairly straightforward grid battle, somewhat comparable to games like Kattenbende or Sellswords. Mini Dungeon doesn’t feature any game mechanics players haven’t seen before, but its quick playtime, compact size, and simplicity make it a great introduction to fast, strategic grid battles.
