Review: Meow Meow Dice (Playte) – English

Everyone who has a cat knows the feeling: you’re more of a butler than an owner. Cats demand attention when it suits them, can sometimes be ungrateful, and have particularly specific wishes when it comes to food. In Meow Meow Dice, players step into the paws of a cat and try to grab the tastiest treats from their butler!

Let me be honest: I’m not a huge fan of the classic game Yahtzee, but I am a big fan of the core mechanism. Games like Dice Throne, Age of War/Risk Express, and countless roll-and-writes use the same principle: you roll, set aside some dice, and get another chance to roll again. This mechanic always brings tension and strategy. Meow Meow Dice embraces this as well, but adds its own delightful twist.

In this game, players roll unique dice, each decorated with adorable cats, to collect cards. After every roll, you must set aside at least one die; the remaining dice may be rolled again. This way, you try to score valuable cards and sets. Whoever has gathered the most points at the end wins the game!

Meow Meow Dice is a delightfully simple dice game with irresistible artwork that will appeal to both young and old. Thanks to its cheerful illustrations, accessible gameplay, and quick pace, it’s a must-have for every game shelf—and for anyone who has ever wanted to act like a cat.
